Abstracts Submission Deadline: Friday 6 April 2018
The Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) of the Medical Oncology Group of Australia, New Directions in Personalised Cancer Therapy, will be the premier national gathering for Australian medical oncology professionals in 2018. The meeting will attract over four hundred delegates including senior consultants and trainees from Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.
Every abstract accepted by the Abstract Review Committee will be published in the ASM Abstract and Program Booklet, a supplement of the Asia-Pacific Journal of Clinical Oncology, which will be available online and provided in hard copy format to delegates attending the meeting.
Authors must comply with the following guidelines. The Abstract Review Committee reserves the right to return for re-submission with a strict deadline any abstract that does not comply with these requirements.
Abstracts are blinded to the members of the Review Committee and are assessed on merit and without any prior knowledge of authors, prior research and research group strengths or expertise.
Terms & Conditions
Abstracts must be submitted by the first author and only 2 abstracts per first author can be submitted.
Abstracts submitted by commercial entities, private research groups and undergraduate students will not be accepted.
A limited number of selected encore abstracts may be considered. Encore submissions must be relevant to the discipline of medical oncology and the meeting themes. Encore submissions must disclose at the time of submission all previous presentations in the body of the abstract and on the poster using the following format: “The results in this abstract have been previously presented in part at [conference name/s, venue/s and date/s] and published in the conference proceedings as abstract [number/s]”.
The first author will be required to attend and present their abstract if it is selected for an oral session. Company representatives or staff are not eligible to present abstracts on behalf of first authors. Alternate presenters need to be approved by the ASM Planning Committee.
The Abstract Review Committee has the right of refusal to any abstract submitted at all times.
Abstracts that do not comply with these guidelines may be rejected so please take the time to conform your submission.

By clicking on the link “Submit an Abstract” when available, you will be taken to a web page where you can cut and paste your abstract in several simple steps. The benefits of this system are many but include:
i. Allowing you to preview your abstract and make modifications to your satisfaction.
ii. Ensuring you know your lodgement is completed as you will receive an immediate email confirmation
iii. Ensuring accurate indexing of all authors in the abstract book
iv. Ensuring consistent presentation of all abstracts in the proceedings (overarching formatting is imposed).

Notification of programming decisions will come from the secretariat shortly after the expiry of deadlines and the working program will be posted to the web site. The notification will include specific presentation instructions but in the interim, those preparing posters should note the maximum size allowed is 100cm wide by 120cm deep. Velcro will be available to fix the poster to the boards. Computer data projection is the preferred presentation method for orals.
